Kenneth Hal Stilson 1931-2009
Kenneth
Hal Stilson, 78, died on September 26, 2009, under kind care of both
Ramona VNA Hospice and Parkside Gardens Assisted Living, Hemet, CA. He
died after 2 months of complications from pancreatic and liver cancers.
Born in South Bend, IN, youngest of 5, Ken lived at Heritage Ranch, San
Jacinto with his wife Marion of 56 years' marriage, is survived by a
brother, Don Stilson, and his wife Eve, Houston TX, and many
cousins/nieces/nephews and their families (several of whom are active or
retired professional firefighters). Siblings Joy, Sybil and John preceded
him in death, also his only son Michael in l982.
Ken was proud of his employment with the Los Angeles County Fire
Department, having retired in l982. He did an above-average job in
enjoying retirement. He was a member of the USS DeHaven Sailors Assoc.,
Pomona Elks, San Jacinto AL and VFW, along with Grandfathers For Golf.
According to his wish, remains have been donated to Bodies For Science,
Loma Linda University, Redlands, CA. No service is planned. In lieu of
flowers, contribution may be made to Stilson Memorial Trees (to be planted
at Silent Valley RV Club, Banning, CA), c/o Marion, 800 W. Community
College Dr., #352, San Jacinto, CA 92583.
