James A. Shue, 75, passed away on Dec. 25, 2002 of pulmonary fibrosis. He was aboard the DeHaven from 1948-1953 during the Korean War. He was a BT1.

He was born Aug. 18, 1927, in St. Louis. A Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was a retired stationary engineer in county government and a 25-year resident of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Fay of Las Vegas; daughters, Margie White of Las Vegas; and Kathy Eisenmand of Death Valley, Calif.; brothers, Harold of Mulino, Oregon, and Clyde of Sebring, Fla; sisters, Jenny Mayo of North Turner, Maine, and Margie Richardson of Everett, Wash; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

We found Jim again about a year or so ago. Jim had planned to attend the reunion in September but took sick before he could make it. Many would have liked to have seen him.
