His wife Rhoda remembers:

My husband, Doyce Neighbors passed last August 17, 2012. He had small cell lung cancer. He was a very loved man by his family and had a strong faith in God. Doyce was 82 years, retired from Lockheed and enjoyed reading, gardening and coin collecting. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.

He served from 1948 -1952. I don't really know how much time he spent on The DeHaven (48-50). He spoke highly of his time on The DeHaven and kept in touch by phone to a friend, throughout the years.  I believe Mr. DeHart in VA. who also passed in 2012. He never attended any  reunions and the reason; he did not like to fly and they were usually held a distance away. He would talk about going but never did.
