Raymond Joseph Lemieux May 5, 1931-October 26, 2017

Columbus, Georgia- Raymond Joseph Lemieux, 86, of Columbus, Georgia, died on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Kindred Hospice. Mr. Lemieux, son of the late Albert Adrienne Lemieux and Martha Weston Lemieux, was born May 5, 1931 in Chicopee Falls, MA.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727 as a CS3. He was a member of the DeHaven Sailors Association.

He married his beloved Joy Browning. Together, they traveled the world extensively and built two successful local businesses. As founder and the namesake of Ray Rents, Inc. he was a pioneer in the American Rental Association.

He was a devoted Catholic, active member of St. Anne Catholic Church as well as numerous civic and professional organizations. He was an avid fisherman and had a love for hunting. His enthusiasm for life was contagious and he never met a stranger.

Mr. Lemieux is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joy Browning Lemieux, 3 sons, Michael Lemieux (Marlene), John Lemieux, David Lemieux (Jaime), 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
