Joel Eugene Helton Sr. 1933-2021

Joel Eugene Helton, Sr. 87, of Concord, NC passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Joel was born August 8, 1933 in Concord, NC to the late Lee J. Helton and the late Daisy Mae Gadd Helton.

Joel served aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727 from 1952-1955.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jac Williams; brother, Billy Helton; brother, Jimmy Helton; and sister-in-law Montez Helton.

Survivors include daughter, Sheri Pressley and husband Dennis; son, Joel Helton Jr. and wife Kay; daughter, Dede Wishon and husband Dennis; grandchildren, April Helton, Matthew Helton, Meredith Wolfe, Enid Valu, Bryan Folds, Sarah Wishon, Chase Bryant and Josh Williams; brother, Buddy Helton, sister, Barbara Mullis and husband Bill; brother David Helton and wife Kathy; sister, Linda Helton Furr and husband Fred; sister, Joanne Helton Rowell and husband Mick; as well as multiple great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
