John H. "Toby" Hanneman 1934-2004

John H. "Toby" Hanneman, 69, of 3910 64th St. S., Wisconsin Rapids, in the town of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, May 7, 2004, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.

John was born Aug. 15, 1934, to John and Edith (Saeger) Hanneman. He married Dorothy Clark on Dec. 20,1961. She passed away Nov. 7, 2002.

John was employed by Pre-way, Inc. until the company closed. He then worked for Haza Mechanical until his retirement in 1996.

He served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 aboard U.S.S. DeHaven DD-727 and in the Naval Reserves from 1956 to 1960 . He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. He served as an elder and usher and helped with maintenance. He enjoyed people, his yard, fishing, hunting and wood crafting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his sisters, Hazel (Charles) Leiser, Lucillc Behrend and Ruth Zinda; brothers, Robert (Laura) Hanneman and Fred (Mary) Hanneman; stepdaughter, Alvina (Herbert) Stickney of Nekoosa; stepson Kenneth Clark of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren Kim (Tony) Parker of Pitsville, Mark (Sally) Stickney of Wisconsin Rapids, David (Jamie) Stickney of Nekoosa and Tammy (Todd) Koch of Wisconsin Rapids; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and two brothers.
