Ronald L. Empfield 1945-2002
Ronald L. Empfield, 57, of Riverton, Illinois died October 23, 2002 at his home. He was born May 19, 1945 in North Platte, Nebraska, the son of James and Dorothy Peterson Empfield. He married Susanne Dowhower in 1980 in Springfield. Mr. Empfield was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in Vietnam for six years, and a mechanic for Ditch-Witch. He also had worked for J-Wright and a Case dealer. He was a member of Cross Point Baptist Church and Eagles Aerie 4361 of Riverton. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 534 and VFW Post 10302. Survivors: wife, Susanne; three sons, Jon Empfield of Hastings, Nebraska, Thomas (wife Lanell) Empfield of North Platte and Steven Empfield of Fairbury, Nebraska; a daughter, Tammy Empfield of Endicott, Nebraska; two granddaughters; mother, Dorothy Empfield of North Platte; two sisters, Pat Stull of North Platte and Lynne Empfield of Hastings; and uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
