Donald F. Daugherty, age 74 of Chattanooga died Monday September
7, 2004 in a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident
of Chattanooga and was a member of First Wesleyan Church. He was
retired from Rock-Tenn after 25 years of service. He was the owner
of Red Bank Shoe Shop for more than 20 years. He was a Korean War
Veteran serving in the United States Navy and was a member of the
American Legion and the V.F.W. in Marietta, Georgia;
Mr. Daugherty was the son of the late John & Irene Daugherty
and was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Daugherty.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Daugherty;
children, Donald Glen Daugherty of Chattanooga; Larry S. (Gail)
Daugherty of Waleska, Georgia; Karen Irene Marshall of
Chattanooga; grandson, Matthew Daugherty of Waleska, Georgia;
sisters, Peggy Cooper of Lakeview, Georgia; Anna Lee Carson of
Chattanooga; Ralph (Louise) Daugherty and Truman (Gail) Daugherty
all of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the East
Chapel with Rev. David Marcum and Rev. David Cobb officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. The family
will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from
10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial
