Don LaRue Burcalow 1936-2006

 

Don LaRue Burcalow passed away at his home in Temple, Texas on May 20, 2006,  at the age of 70.

He left a special lady in his life, Clara Bell Benner of Temple, TX; a brother, Gayland Burcalow of Longview, TX; a sister, Yvette Amos of Denver, CO; and two children he often talked about, Kelly of Edna, TX and James Keith of Fayetteville, TX.

Don Burcalow attended school in Gatesville, TX, and Baylor University, where he majored in music. He played a clarinet in the Navy Dixie Band and served as a sonar man on the USS De Haven DD-727.
 
He was a Mason, lifetime member of VFW Post 1820 of Temple, TX, member of DAV Post 111 of Temple, TX, and member of American Legion Post 133 of Temple, TX. He was a television serviceman in civilian life.
