WILLIAM FRANCIS BROUILLETTE 1925-2006
WILLIAM
FRANCIS BROUILLETTE, 81, of
BRICK, NJ, died Saturday, Aug. 19, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. He was
born on March 15, 1925, in Palmer, Mass., and later moved to Philadelphia.
He received his bachelor's degree in health and physical education from
Temple University in Philadelphia and received his master's degree from
Rutgers University. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S.
Navy on the USS DeHaven. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean
War and retired from military service as a colonel in 1985. William began
his teaching career in Brick at the Osbornville School in 1955. He became
part of the original faculty when the Brick Township High School opened in
1957, teaching physical education and coaching cross country, baseball and
winter track. He later became physical education director and the
assistant principal. Mr. Brouillette served as the principal of Brick
Memorial High School in 1980 until his retirement in 1982. After
retirement, he worked in Saudi Arabia instructing telecommunications to
Saudi army personnel. Upon his return to the United States, he taught
history at Red Bank Catholic High School. He also coached baseball at
Point Pleasant High School for one season. He was a member of VFW Post
8867 of Brick and was a parishioner of St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church,
Point Pleasant.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Dorothy M. Kohlbrenner Brouillette;
three daughters, Michelle A. Wynne of Virginia Beach, Va., Thais
Brouillette of Jackson, and Jan E. Reilly of Point Pleasant Beach; four
grandchildren, Tina, Tracy, Chrissie and Colleen; and three
great-grandchildren, Meghan, Brett and Truitt Elysian.
