Frank X. Bonilla, aged 95, passed away on October 8, 2004. He was
born on December 3, 1908. He was a WWII Veteran serving aboard the
destroyer USS DeHaven DD-727 from 1943 through 1945 as an
Electrician's Mate 3rd Class. He was also the Captain's barber.
Frank was a machinist after the war. He worked at a few
different places including the Ford Motor Company. Up until 2
months ago, he still lived on his own. His favorite thing to do
was cook. He liked to fix things and his favorite gift were tools.
He enjoyed many friends but his whole life was family.
He is survived by his wife Nettie. Beloved father of Betty
Kerstein, Linda LaFontaine, Anita Gillespie, Danny Murphy and
Arthur, Frank, Andy, Shirley and George Bonilla. Predeceased by
sons Hugh and Iris Murphy; brother Manuel Bonilla and son-in-law
Wall Kerstein. Dear grandfather of three generations of 38
grandchildren, including 3 great, great grandchildren. . He will
be surely missed.
