 Skip's Pics
Albert "Skip" Meinke took a lot of
photos while he was aboard the DeHaven from 1966-1968. Many of his
pictures you'll recognize from the 66-68 Cruise Book. He has offered
them to us for your enjoyment. We have split them up into the following categories:
ASW
Division
As Skip was in the ASW Division, there are many pictures of the Sonar Gang and
the Torpedomen tending to their daily duties aboard DeHaven
 Shipmates
These are pictures of just about anyone doing just about
anything.
Underway
As the title suggests, these pictures were taken underway aboard
DeHaven
 Taking on Supplies
While in Vietnam, we took on supplies often and oil just about
every other day to keep our tanks "topped off" in battle readiness.
Here are some pictures of what the sailors know as UNREP.
Ports of Call
The DeHaven stopped in many ports. Here you'll see some pictures
of Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong, one of the favorite ports of call.
Yokosuka
The DeHaven was home ported in Yokosuka during the time Skip was
aboard. Because there are the most pictures of "Yoko", it has a category
by itself.
